Honey Bee Pests Diseases and Remedies

Bees and their hives can be threatened by a variety of attacks.  This article will review a variety of bee pests,  and remedies.  Addressing these issues will help to keep your bees healthy and your investment intact.
There are lots of pests and diseases which can invade and affect your  bee hive.  Some of the more common pests include the Varroa Destructor mite and the wax moth.  And diseases like Nosema or Deformed Wing Virus (DMV) can infect honey bee hives.  There are a number of remedies which are effective and can utilize natural methods.  These methods avoid the use of chemical agents and can help to protect the health of the honey bees and their hives.

To find some of the most effective treatments, the Internet has a great deal of information and advice.  For example a bee keeping forum is an excellent place to consult with other bee keeping professionals on methods they have used to treat diseases and eradicate pests.  If you do a Google search with the search term honey bee forums, you will find a number of good forums to consult with further.

Helpful information is also available as part of a bee keeping for beginners or other beekeeping courses.  They can discuss treatment options using both chemical agents as well as natural beekeeping techniques.  These courses can be outstanding ways to teach you how to keep bees and build a successful beekeeping business.

Most bee keeping professionals would agree that if at all possible, natural treatments against the threats from pests and diseases are the best approach.  This helps to maximize honey production and the yield from a honey extractor.  Healthy bee apiaries are vital in protecting your investment of time and money in bee keeping equipment and the honey bees themselves.

In treating and protecting honey bees, there are some important pieces of equipment necessary to protect you from the threat of bee stings.  This includes bee keeping suits which feature protective coverings and headgear.  The fabric is thick enough to prevent the stingers from the bees from penetrating into the underlying skin.  And the screened hood is designed to allow you to see what you are doing while preventing the bees from entering your suit.

At the same time it is important to use devices like smokers to calm the bees and keep them from attacking and potentially stinging you while extracting the honey from the bee hives.you follow these suggestions, you should have many effective options when it comes to preventing and treating threats from pests and diseases and keep your beekeeping business running in the best possible manner

The joys of keeping bees

Welcome to the joys of beekeeping.

Start your own honey farm start your own honey farm

If you decide to try beekeeping as a hobby, you will soon  discover that the taste of your own honey will truly surpass any supermarket or store bought honey you have ever tasted. Also you will really enjoy watching your bees going about collecting your honey harvest.
Most supermarket honey is from South America or China. After a long sea voyage it is then given heat treatment and  blended. You may think you enjoy the taste. But once you have tasted your own honey, you will soon realise that most store bought honey actually tastes bland. The blending and heat treatment process removes most of the true subtle taste.
If, you are lucky enough to have an apple orchard nearby, the honey that your bees will produce from the apple blossom is absolutely delicious. As a new beekeeper, to produce honey far superior to the supermarkets is very easy.
Once your friends and neighbours have tried the free sample you should give them, they will be back to pay for it next time. Over and over again.
Beekeeping is also a very important part of the environment, without bees we would all starve! Without bees all plants and crops would become extinct. Without bees the world will end!
You will never wonder what to give someone as a birthday present ever again. They will be thrilled to get a jar of your homemade honey.
